Reyes Opens Community Garden in Highland Park

For more than twenty years, the area behind the Highland Park Theatre was little more than a dirt lot. But residents saw hope in this land. Highland Park residents Nicole Gatto and Oscar Duardo worked with Councilmember Reyes to transform this fenced-off area to create the Milagro Allegro Community Garden. The 10,000-square-foot garden features 32 raised beds where neighbors can plant flowers or harvest fruits and vegetables. There is also a community gathering circle for classes and events.
