Reyes, Cyclists, Kick Off Bike to Work Week




Councilmember Reyes joined bicycle enthusiasts this morning at Olvera Street to kick-off Bike to Work Week. The weeklong festivities include the Blessing of the Bicycles tomorrow(Tuesday, May 12) at 8 a.m. at Good Samaritan Hospital, 616 S. Witmer, in the Councilman's First District. This and other bike events were celebrated by Reyes, Councilmembers José Huizar and Tom LaBonge, Metro CEO Art Leahy, Los Angeles Department of Transportation chief Rita Robinson, Good Samaritan Hospital CEO Andrew Leeka, Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition director Jennifer Klausner. Bart Simpson and a German visitor also joined the group to encourage people to leave their keys behind and bike to work.
