Two Outdoors Events this Saturday

Councilmember Reyes invites you to enjoy the outdoors with him at two Saturday morning events--The Great Los Angeles River Clean-up and the MacArthur Park Youth Fishing Derby.

More than 4,000 volunteers flanked across the Los Angeles River are projected to participate in the Friends of the Los Angeles River (FoLAR) 20th Annual 'La Gran Limpieza'. There are 11 spots near the River scheduled for a deep cleaning from community members from 9 a.m. to Noon. The Northeast Area of the River clean-up has five designated sites including Taylor Yard.

If you find yourself closer to the Westlake community, then come join me at the 6th Annual MacArthur Park Youth Fishing Derby. Anglers will have the chance to catch from a lake with 700 pounds of catfish. Youth age 15 and under will receive a one-day fishing license and fishing gear. Adults must bring their own fishing license and gear.
