Student Safety Meeting in Highland Park

Reyes welcomed parents and local leaders to a "Safety Passages Community Meeting" at the Franklin High School auditorium, in Highland Park. Parents had a chance to speak with individuals from organizations like Aztec Rising, Hathaway-Sycamores Child and Family Services, North Figueroa Association, and Metro Rail Safety about local services for their children. Parents discussed their concerns about keeping their children safe with local Los Angeles Police Department representatives and Los Angeles Unified School District administrators. They also learned about safer routes, safe houses, private homes or centers where a trusted adult can provide a safe haven for children seeking help.
