Reyes Fights For Responsible High Speed Rail Plan

Our communities deserve safe and responsibly-planned public transit, including the proposed bullet train that would link Los Angeles to San Francisco. That's why, during today's City Council meeting, I successfully called for a commitment from the California High Speed Rail Authority to study other possible locations for a downtown rail station. I want to be sure that we have studied other routes to maximize benefits for our residents, especially in the First District communities. These benefits include safe access to public transit, park space and bikeways, mixed-use development, environmental and neighborhood revitalization.
